Create form fields

To create your first Forms:

·      Go to ‘Form’ and ‘Create New’

·      Name your Form

·      Select ‘Number of Fields’ which will currently sit at 0

·      Create New and add fields to your form

·      Click ‘Create’ to enter one question into the form

·      Continue to do so until you have a complete form to fill. You can order your questions and select Input types such as Dropdown, Checkbox and Email.   

·      It is good to prioritise your questions. You can order the questions by number. 1 is the first question, 10 being the last of ten questions. 

 

You can always go back and edit your form fields (questions, order of questions, input type, etc.)


 

After you created your form fields, you will have to create a ‘Payment Settings’ for your forms.

The Payment Settings part of the platform allows you to customise the payment experience, lets you attach forms, sign up people for newsletters and edit the Receipt setting as well - Fully customise the payment experience

To access the Payment settings, go to MyThyngs > User icon on the top right > Payment Settings 

Here, you can add your forms Before or After the payment transaction, depending on when you would like these questions to pop up – before or after donation:

·       Before Payment Form 

·       You can add a Form here. You can either use an already made form by selecting it from the list or you can create a new one by going to MyThyngs > Forms > Forms > Create new 

·       The selected Form questions will appear before the payment is made 

 

·       After Payment Form 

·       You can add a Form here. You can either use an already made form by selecting it from the list or you can create a new one by going to MyThyngs > Forms > Forms > Create new 

·       The selected Form questions will appear after the payment is made (good opportunity to ask people to sign up for marketing emails) 

After you saved your Payment Setting, you will have to attach it to your Donation Template.

 

Attaching our Payment Setting to a Payment Template  

(Donation/Payment/Subscription) 

 

 

To attach our new payment settings to a page, go to MyThyngs > Create > Pages > Advanced Options (below the template selection).

 

·       You can use an already existing Payment Setting or create a new one by clicking on the “Create New Setting” 

 

Select an image to represent this campaign 

 

·       This image is used in the Thyngs app when a user favourites a thyng from this campaign. 

·       You can upload a jpg, jpeg, png or gif file 

 

After updating your Advanced options, Press ‘Save’ and then you can edit your Page. After finished editing, press ‘Save’ again, and this will automatically add your forms to your donation experience.


We also have a specific Forms focused template, called ‘Forms Collection v5.0’

When you get to the page editor, you will see Form Settings within the customisation features. Select your Form in the dropdown. Here you can edit the Form Button Colour and enable Multiple submissions. 

 

 

 

How do Data Options work for different inputs? 

Data options are typically used for Dropdown's when you need the end-user to select a pre-determined selection of answers. For example, ‘Where did you hear about us?’ followed by a selection of possibilities. Separate each option with a comma. If the question doesn’t need this setting, you can leave the Data Options section empty. 

 

When you would like to access the Form feedbacks, go to ‘Forms’ and then click on the ‘Forms’ subsection.
Select the form you are currently using, and click on the Submitted response number.


 

Here you will see all responses, which you can filter on the top. After filtering your Data, you can download your responses in CSV, PDF or Excel format.
